Headed home

Hello all, today is Monday, 8 January 2007. We are in Denver and will be headed home in the morning. We had a pretty eventful trip on the way here. It started out on Saturday morning when we left our house at 4 am. We had to leave early, so we could stop early to watch the Kansas City game. We drove through 100 mph winds, almost ran out of gas, saw several semi-trucks turned over, drove through "ground blizzards" with zero visability, and then watched Kansas City LOSE. RRRRRR!!!! We were happy to finally arrive in Denver safely on Sunday afternoon. We spent the whole day today in the "clinic". Andrew recieved three different chemo drugs, one of which Jeff will be giving him via his mediport nightly for the next couple of weeks. I was nervous about him coming home with his port accessed, but now that I have seen Jeff give him the medicine, I am not so scared. The Dr. here in Denver said that it looks like Andrew is doing really well and we shouldn't have to come back to Denver until May. He also said that the end date for Andrew's treatment is Oct 6, 2009. It is crazy to think that it is still that far away, but it is awesome to think about how far he has come. So, after a long trip here and a long day today, we will be heading home tomorrow. We will arrive either Tuesday night, or Wednesday morning. I will be posting pics after we get home. We'll be in touch soon!

Glad to hear that you made it in one piece! My bro-in-law is a big KC fan, sorry for your loss! 2009 seems so far away, but I bet it will go by quicker than you realize! Praying for you and your family!

We always call crazy trips where lots of things go wrong 'adventures' so that we keep a good attitude, heehee, it doesn't always work
